Moody details special bond with rookie teammate Kuminga

What’s the secret to rookie teammates Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody finding success with the Warriors?

Opposites attract.

At least that was Moody’s assessment on why he believes the two young rooks get along so well.

And despite having very different personalities, the two 19-year-olds have managed to build a special bond during their first year in the NBA.

“Yeah, yeah that’s my dog,” Moody told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Grant Liffmann on the latest episode of Dubs Talk. “He’s going to bring energy on and off the court. He’s just a fun dude to be around, joking, playing, dancing, all of that. I’m not much of a dancer myself, that’s why I said opposites attract. Just being two different people, from two different places, from two different environments and then coming together.”

As the No. 7 and No. 14 overall draft picks in the 2021 NBA Draft, JK and Moody have gone from students in the back corner to important game-changers for the Warriors while key players were out.

There is still a lot to learn for the pair of teenagers, but they’ve shown they belong.

And aside from basketball, Moody apparently could improve some of his fits. Kuminga has definitely turned some heads in the NBA fashion world recently.

“JK be getting down,” Moody told Liffmann. “That’s a cool cat. I don’t know if I can pull off some of the ones JK can, but maybe one day. I might spice it up a little bit.”
