The Warriors haven’t been able to find the answers to their current skid, as they have lost seven of their last nine games, including three straight for the first time this season.
It’s been hard to fill the gaps on both ends of the floor without their defensive anchor Draymond Green and 18-year veteran Andre Iguodala.
And it certainly didn’t make things easier when Klay Thompson missed two games with an illness.

But with Klay back in action and Draymond’s return nearing, former Warrior and current NBC Sports Bay Area analyst Matt Barnes says DubNation has nothing to worry about.
“As a former player and someone who was in that locker room at one point, I just think they’re in a rough skid,” Barnes said on Warriors Pregame Live on Thursday. “I wouldn’t look too far into it. But it also shows how important Draymond Green is as a security blanket not only on the defensive end, but kind of the orchestra on the offensive end.”
Draymond, who has missed the last 24 games (25 if you include the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers in which he played seven seconds before leaving the contest) with a back injury, hasn’t played in a game with Klay since 2019.
And if you were living under a rock anytime between 2015 and 2019, Steph, Klay and Dray is a triple-threat trio.

Not to mention James Wiseman is expected to make his season debut soon. The addition of the 7-foot center, Draymond and Iguodala to a team that despite being in a bit of a funk, still has the second-best record in the league.

It’s exciting to think about, and Barnes certainly believes no team will be able to compete with a healthy Warriors squad.
“We’ve all seen in the past what [Green’s] able to do when he has Steph and Klay on the floor,” Barnes said. “So for Warriors fans who are kind of worried that we’re hitting this little skid, I have no doubt that once Draymond is healthy, you see Wiseman ramping his activity back up, and once this team is fully healthy, to me they’re the best team in the game.”
