LeBron James and Steph Curry have been rivals for the past five years, meeting in the NBA Finals four years in a row before James joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018. People even have believed that the two aren't friendly adversaries, as James seemed to send some disrespect Curry's way after blocking his shot in Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals.
But in an Instagram comment Wednesday, LeBron said he believes Steph would be a legend no matter when he played in the NBA.

The original question posed on the Instagram post was about whether Curry would be as effective a player in the rough-and-tumble 1990s, when physical play was much more of a standard practice in the NBA.
As Curry told The Ringer's Bill Simmons back in 2018, there is a "mutual respect" between the two superstars. The two obviously are fierce competitors as well, and that occasionally will boil over on the court.
But NBA superstar rivalries aren't what they used to be. Players have so much business outside of basketball that there is a general friendliness between all of the NBA's elite, with some obvious exceptions.

The two undoubtedly are among the top five current players in the NBA, and likely both will end up in many people's top 10 NBA players of all time when it's all said and done.
