LeBron James reacts to report NBA execs, agents want season canceled

Warriors coach Steve Kerr and the rest of his coaching staff are moving forward as if the Dubs won't be playing another game this season.

"It feels like the end of our season," Kerr said Tuesday. "We're staying in touch with our guys, but it definitely feels like the season is done for us.

"We are absolutely in offseason mode."

That certainly isn't how Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is operating.

The three-time NBA champion let his feelings be known Thursday morning:

There have been plenty of recent reports speculating about what the NBA will do, and whether or not the league will re-open in some fashion or be canceled altogether. As of now, the NBA has held off thus far on making any official decisions regarding the league calendar.

If there is a safe way to resume games and crown a champion through some sort of a playoff format, that would be fantastic.

Why prematurely eliminate that possibility?

As it pertains to LeBron's perspective, the Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference and are championship contenders. Of course he wants the league to keep the door open for a return.

And there is nothing wrong with that.

Even Kerr would like to see the top teams get the chance to take the floor again.

“If people’s health isn’t compromised -- obviously that’s the main thing,” he told ESPN's Rachel Nichols last week. "Can we find a way to do it where nobody’s at risk, and we can have some competition that would allow the teams that are clearly the best teams in the league to compete against each other?

"I know it’s not the same thing, but if that’s the best we could do at minimum, it would be great to be able to do that.”
