There's no shortage of respect for Steph Curry in the Los Angeles Lakers' locker room.
First, LeBron James came out and said Curry should be the MVP. Then, Kyle Kuzma echoed the same tune. The defending champs are well aware of the challenge that lies ahead of them in Wednesday's play-in game against the Warriors, and that includes one of the players that will be tasked with slowing down the 2020-21 NBA scoring champion.
"We're going to do the best we can to stop this guy, but he's a hell of a player," Lakers point guard Dennis Schroder said of Curry on Tuesday during a video conference call with reporters.

"He's the best shooter who ever played this game, so I mean, any shot from halfcourt on, it's a good shot for him," Schroder added. "End of the day, we've got to make it as hard as possible and be into him and limit his 3s."
Tracking data shows that Schroder, as the primary defender, limited Curry to just 6-of-19 shooting from the field across the three matchups between the teams during the regular season. He knows, however, that the postseason is a different animal, and expressed that he won't be taking the assignment lightly.
"He is capable of winning by himself if he wants to," Schroder said of Curry.

It's difficult to envision the Warriors prevailing on Wednesday if Curry doesn't have a great game. Golden State knows it. The Lakers know it. Curry and Schroder definitely know it.
If Curry is going to lead the Warriors to victory over the Lakers, he'll have to overcome their immense respect for him.
