Steph Curry is built differently. Not just on the hardwood but also off it.
Speaking with Bonta Hill, Chris Mullin, Festus Ezeli and Dorell Wright before Golden State's 117-112 Game 1 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday at Chase Center, Warriors CEO Joe Lacob spoke on impressive leadership.
"He's different than a lot of leaders in life that I've seen or in basketball even," Lacob said on "Warriors Pregame Live." "He's not as outspoken, he leads by example more I would say.
Lacob adds that when Curry speaks, everyone around him listens because he has earned the respect of anyone willing to listen because of his accomplishments as one of the greatest players in NBA history.
"So we are incredibly lucky, I'm lucky, we're all lucky, the Bay Area's lucky, the NBA's lucky to have this guy and all that he represents and all that he's achieved certainly so far and who knows how much more to go," Lacob continued. "It's a wonderful thing and I think everyone should just enjoy this while it's happening. Just take every minute in."
Curry further earned the respect of his peers after dropping a playoff career-high 50 points in Game 7 against the Sacramento Kings to help the Warriors advance to the Western Conference semifinals.
Even Lakers star LeBron James had to give his props to Curry during Los Angeles' practice after his rival's herculean performance.
"He puts in the work, and when you put in the work, nine times out of 10, you’re going to see results," James said. "And he’s done that throughout his whole entire career. I’ve got nothing but the utmost respect for Steph and everything he’s been able to accomplish not only on the floor but also off the floor, too.
"It’s great to have people like that in this league that can set an example for the generation to come."

Although the Warriors find themselves in a 1-0 series deficit, Golden State always will have a chance so long as Curry plays.
