Draymond Green called out his teammates on Tuesday night following the Warriors' 94-90 loss to the lowly Orlando Magic.
But Green's message wasn't just one that was delivered through the media. First, the All-Star forward let his teammates and coaches know the performance they put on in Orlando was unacceptable.

"Before he came and told you guys that, he shut the door in the locker room and yell at everybody to wake up," Jonathan Kuminga told reporters Wednesday. "He said the same thing to everybody. It's not like he just went out there to the media. He literally talked that to everybody -- coaches -- everybody that was in the locker room at the time. We kind of needed that because he's one of our leaders. Just him speaking about things like that, it's helping at the end of the day."
Following Tuesday's loss to the Magic, Green called the Warriors "soft" and said they were "getting punked."
"We're not losing the whole game, but we're losing a lot of fourth quarters," Green told reporters Tuesday. "That's execution. But, in order to execute, it requires a certain level of physicality, and we're not meeting that. No disrespect to the Orlando Magic, but that's one of the worst teams in the league, and we can't match that with them. If you can't match that with them, you're definitely not going to match it against a great team.
"That has zero to do with Steph," Green continued when asked if the lack of physicality was due to Steph Curry's absence. "Steph's not bringing the level of physicality to the game. Nor should he. That's not his job. Obviously, Steph not being out there affects the mentality of the team as a whole. But I don't care who is out there. You go to the park and be outmatched, the team can have more size or whatever. You don't get punked. ... You can't get punked. That's what we're doing.

"Steph's out. You can sit me, you can sit [Andrew Wiggins], [Klay Thompson], sit [Jordan Poole]. You still shouldn't get punked, and that's what has been happening to us."

With Green, Klay Thompson, and Otto Porter Jr. resting Wednesday, Kuminga and the rest of the young Warriors responded, upsetting the Miami Heat 118-104 behind Jordan Poole's 30 points.
With nine games remaining in the regular season, Green, a three-time NBA champion, knew the Warriors needed a kick in the rear or else their stay in the playoffs could be short-lived.
His teammates responded with sustained effort and energy Wednesday night in Miami. Wednesday's win gave the Warriors a winning blueprint as the playoffs near. It's up to them to follow it.
