Monday is a day to celebrate for Klay Thompson, although his morning started off on a comical-fail note as he made his way to the Warriors’ championship parade in San Francisco.
It’s no surprise that Thompson decided to take his well-traveled boat across the San Francisco Bay to get to the day’s festivities. The seasoned captain is essentially one with the water, but even the most experienced sea voyagers can make mistakes.
As his vessel cruised through the waves, Thompson was in the middle of an Instagram livestream when a gust of wind ripped his 2022 NBA Finals championship hat from his unsuspecting head in an unforeseen turn of events.

As his hat flew into the cold Bay waters, all Thompson could do was let out a distraught, “Oh no!”
It didn’t bother him for too long.
He let out a laugh, told his viewers that he had lost his hat, and every good sailor knows to have a backup at the ready.
And what better way for the Splash Brother to roll up to Golden State’s celebratory parade than with his trusty captain’s hat, which he promptly placed onto his head.

The loss of Thompson’s Finals hat was a sad sacrifice to the water, but someone sailing in the Bay on Monday might just find a souvenir worthy of a champion.
