Back at Warriors Media Day in September, as he approached the end of his lengthy rehab, Klay Thompson told NBC Sports Bay Area's Kerith Burke that he had been using a red, white and blue basketball given to him by the Harlem Globetrotters for the entirety of his recovery.
Thompson said the backspin of the multi-colored ball revealed how good of a shooter truly was. He brought the ball to Media Day and took official portraits while clutching the ball.
Now, Thompson has a new sphere to commemorate the next phase of his career.

SIGN UP HERE After missing 31 months, Thompson finally returned to the Warriors' lineup on Jan. 9 against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and just a few days later, the Globetrotters visited Chase Center in San Francisco as part of their Spread Game Tour.
The Globetrotters left a brand new basketball for Thompson in his locker.
On the day Thompson returned after rehabbing a torn left ACL and a torn right Achilles, the Globetrotters had a message for the five-time NBA All-Star.
No word yet on if Thompson has swapped out the old ball for the new one.
