It sure does look like Jordan Poole and Klay Thompson are happy to be playing alongside one another for the first time this season.
Without Steph Curry, who is nursing a sprained foot, Poole and Thompson are tasked with leading Golden State's offense for the time being. After the Warriors' 111-107 win over the Utah Jazz on Saturday, the two were seen embracing with a postgame hug after completing a thrilling comeback effort at Chase Center.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr joined 95.7 The Game's "Damon & Ratto" on Tuesday, where he discussed the bond the two have forged and if they ever had to overcome any competitive side-eyeing when Poole started in place of Thompson to begin the season, before the five-time NBA All-Star returned in January and relegated Poole to the bench.
"Yeah, I'm not sure any really existed," Kerr said. "They had just never played together. There is an element to gaining your teammate's trust that has to happen and can only happen when you play together. Even if two great players who end up on the same team because of a trade, it doesn't mean they automatically click and respect each other. So there's a process that you have to go through with your teammates, like fighting through a tough game to pull out a win like the Utah game. That's what bonds players and builds respect and earns trust. And that embrace basically symbolized that trust, that bond being forged. Because they're finally on the fire together and they haven't been at all before now. It's great stuff."
Poole was drafted in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft, just one week after Thompson tore his ACL in Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. Of course, we know that Thompson went on to recover from both ACL and Achilles injuries for the next two-plus years, preventing him from playing alongside the young guard.

Steph and Klay are inseparable, one of the best backcourts in NBA history. But for the Warriors, it must be reassuring to know that there is another duo capable of performing their best Splash Brothers impersonation.
