Kevin Durant unlikely to return to suspended NBA season, agent says

Over the past several months, former Warriors superstar Kevin Durant made it very clear that he will miss the entire 2019-20 season.

But with the coronavirus shutdown in effect, might the two-time NBA Finals MVP return to game action if the Brooklyn Nets are taking part in playoff games in late June or beyond?

"Honestly, not very realistic from my standpoint, and not even spoken about," KD's agent, Rich Kleiman, said Monday morning on ESPN's "Golic and Wingo" show. "It feels like it clearly was not something that was in the cards prior to all of this.

"And now, I think -- just like the rest of the world -- it's hard to take anything more than day by day. But again -- I think that Kevin is going to figure out the space that he needs to be in to continue to rehab during this time.

"But even that is hard to answer at this point, with the new kind of rules that were put in place."

Durant tore his right Achilles tendon during Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

Less than three weeks later, he announced he would be signing with the Nets in free agency.
