He was rewarded with the NBA MVP trophy.

According to the two-time Finals MVP, he has never felt better on the court.

“I’ve mastered who I am as a basketball player,” Durant told Michael Lee of The Athletic on Sunday night. "Me figuring out who I want to be as a basketball player has made me at ease with everything. ...

“Now I feel I’m keeping everything sharp instead of trying to learn new sh**. I’m still trying to figure new stuff out. But more so than anything, I’m just trying to stay sharp because that shows I’ve kind of got a grip on how I want to play.”

For the rest of the season, pretty much anything Durant says will be analyzed and interpreted through the prism of his pending free agency.

One school of thought can look at his above comments and think that because he has mastered who he is as a player, he will want to move on to a different challenge.

On the other side, people will think: If Durant is "at ease with everything" and playing the way he always has wanted, why would he leave the Warriors?

But there's even more.

“Knowing I can do pretty much anything on the basketball court is making the game more fun," Durant told The Athletic. "Making me more relaxed as a person, too. ... I feel like I can do anything on the basketball court. I’m just super secure with that because I’m a hooper before all of this.

“I’m really just secure with my game. More secure than I’ve ever been. It’s making my life better to be honest. I just love playing ball more than ever right now.”

As a person, you can't really hope for anything better than this. Good for Kevin Durant.
