Kerr playfully forces Steph to sit in blowout vs. Thunder

Steph Curry was so thermonuclear hot Wednesday night that he had to be forced to sit on the bench.

After scoring 42 points on 11 3-pointers in 29 minutes of action against Oklahoma City Thunder, Curry was removed from game with 32.5 seconds left in the third quarter.

Curry, who scored 25 points in the third quarter, thought that he was headed back into the game for the final possession of the period, but Warriors coach Steve Kerr had other ideas.

"I actually was joking with him," Kerr told reporters after the Warriors blew out the Thunder, 147-109. "I told him he was going back in. He didn't understand the joke. He just wanted to go run back on the floor. That's how hot he was."

With the win, the Warriors now have a 27-28 record with 17 games remaining on the schedule.

Two days after scoring 53 points and passing Wilt Chamberlain for most points in franchise history, Curry followed up that performance with another jaw-dropping effort.

Curry made 14-of-20 from the field Wednesday night, including 11-of-16 from 3-pointer range. It's the second time in his prolific career that he has made 10 or more 3-pointers in consecutive games.

In the month of April, Curry has been on fire. With his 42-point performance, he's now averaging 39.85 points per game and has made 47 of his 94 3-point attempts (50 percent).
