Kerr lauds Draymond as the NBA's modern ‘defensive genius'

There is little doubt that Draymond Green is one of the NBA's best defensive players.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr has echoed that sentiment time and time again. And did so once again prior to Golden State's matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday at Arena.

"Draymond's a genius, he's a defensive genius," Kerr told reporters pregame. "I think the best I've ever seen in terms of dissecting what's happening and reacting and calculating as he's moving, 'How can I force the most difficult attempt on this play?' It's amazing watching his mind work when you watch film, watch a defensive possession. This guy's just brilliant.

"So he's the ultimate defensive weapon, especially in the modern game because he can guard one through five. Very few players can really say that, but he truly can guard one through five and he can also help the other four guys while he's doing that, so he's amazing."

Green, an 11-year NBA veteran, is a four-time champion, four-time All-Star, has been named to seven All-Defensive Teams and was the 2016-17 Defensive Player of the Year. His résumé speaks for itself.

As does his play on the court.
