The Warriors officially signed D-League guard Briante Weber to a 10-day contract Saturday.
But news of the move was already known Friday and head coach Steve Kerr was asked to break down Weber's game.
"Very highly regarded D-League player. Played at VCU with Shaka Smart. He's a dynamic defensive player. He's quick and active. Kind of a pest. I've had a couple of scouts compare him to Patrick Beverley with Houston. Somebody that's going to be a pest and put pressure on the ball. We'll see, you never know how these things work out, how a guy will translate from the D-League," Kerr said on KNBR 680 on Friday.

The Warriors are very familiar with Beverley, who mixed it up with reigning MVP Stephen Curry during Game 1 of opening round of the playoffs last season.
To make room for Weber on the roster, the Warriors waived veteran center Anderson Varejao.
In 31 games for the D-Leageu's Sioux Fall Skyforce this season, the 24-year-old Weber averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.4 assists per contest. He was named D-League Player of the Month for January.
Weber appeared in seven regular seasons games for the Grizzlies and Heat during the 2015-16 season and logged six minutes of action over two postseason games for Miami.

Weber will wear No. 2 with the Warriors and is expected to be available for the Warriors game in Sacramento on Saturday night.
