Kerr believes Dubs return imminent for Kuminga, JaMychal

It appears reinforcements are on the way for the Warriors.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr outlined when forwards Jonathan Kuminga and JaMychal Green are expected to return to the court after watching them take part in scrimmages before Golden State's flight to Boston.

"We had a 3-on-3 with some of the guys who don't play as much and those two guys, just coming back from injury," Kerr told 95.7 The Game's Ray Ratto and Damon Bruce on Wednesday. "So they were rusty as you would expect but it was great to see them on the floor.

"They looked healthy and I think there's a chance that maybe they could play in Cleveland. ... I'd say there's a chance that those guys can play in Cleveland."

Playing just over 26 minutes in the Warriors' 118-112 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Dec. 30, Kuminga has missed the last seven games with a right foot sprain after sustaining the injury in the same game.

Green has not played since Dec. 18. He initially entered health and safety protocols then developed a right lower leg infection, which has kept him sidelined as the Warriors help him regain his fitness.

When Kuminga and Green return, the Warriors surely will welcome the 20-year-old's physicality and the veteran's ability to stretch the floor and make plays on both ends of the court.

Before then, Golden State is set to face the Boston Celtics on Thursday in a rematch of the 2022 NBA Finals.

Regardless of the result between the Warriors and Celtics, Kuminga and Green both could see playing time against the Cavaliers on Friday, the second night of a back-to-back.
