Jordan Poole continues to make history.
The third-year pro added another accolade to his playoff shelf on Sunday night with a show-stopping performance in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, erupting for four second-half threes that stupefied the Boston Celtics.
Poole’s behind-the-arc prowess broke records as the 22-year-old became the youngest player to make five threes in a Finals game. He made one in the first quarter as well before unleashing his shot in the third and fourth.

One of those, of course, was his half-court buzzer-beater that sent shockwaves through Chase Center to end the third quarter and effectively shut down the Celtics’ chances of taking Game 2. That 39-foot shot broke a Finals record, too, as the longest 3-pointer in the last 25 series.
And Sunday wasn’t even the first time Poole has made history during Golden State’s current postseason run.
In Game 1 of the Warriors’ opening-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets, Poole’s superb shooting led to a couple of legendary accomplishments.
The young guard’s 30-point performance tied him with Mitch Richmond (30 in 1989) for the second-most points during a Warriors playoff debut in team history, behind only Wilt Chamberlain (35 in 1960).

Poole also made five 3-pointers that night, good for the most by any Warriors player in their first playoff game.

The second-half show put on by Poole on Sunday night reminded the NBA -- and Dub Nation -- that when he gets hot, it’s most definitely a party.
With at least three more games guaranteed in the best-of-seven Finals series, the Warriors can only hope Poole remains ablaze.
