Jordan Poole’s reaction to his incredible half-court buzzer-beater in Game 2 perfectly displayed how nonchalant and confident the young guard is.
“I want the ball at all of the end-of-the-quarter and shot clocks,” Poole said on the NBA TV broadcast after the Warriors’ 107-88 win on Sunday. “And my teammates look for me and I know I had him on his heels. I have endless range, I guess.”

Yeah, a 39-foot triple is pretty impressive. It was the longest 3-pointer made in the past 25 NBA Finals.
After finishing the first half with just three points, Poole finished the game with 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field and 5-of-9 from deep.
The 22-year-old guard explained to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Kerith Burke what his mindset was at that time.
“Just continuing to keep being aggressive, playing my game,” Poole said. “That’s really all it is. Trying to get my teammates involved but continuing to be me, putting pressure on the defense and trying to get easy and open looks for my teammates.”
Seconds before nailing the half-court shot as time expired to end the third quarter, Poole drained another deep three that got fans at Chase Center on their feet.
And fans didn’t have much time to take their seats as the very next possession was the buzzer-beater that really got Chase Center rocking.

Poole’s only been in the league for three years, but everyone, especially himself, knows he’s fully capable of hitting big shots.

“I hit big shots all the time,” Poole told Burke. “My teammates believe that, that’s why they gave me the ball at the end of the quarter, stay locked in and try to get this momentum going and take it on the road.”
And that’s exactly what the Warriors will need as they take Game 3 to Boston in front of a high-intensity crowd at TD Garden.
