JaVale McGee's return to Oracle Arena will be a big one for the Lakers center. But he might not be able to play in the highly anticipated Christmas Day contest against the Warriors.
McGee was discharged from the UCLA Medical Center on Saturday, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. He was admitted Thursday with a 104-degree fever and was diagnosed with pneumonia.
After being released from the hospital on Saturday, McGee is day-to-day, putting his status against his former team in jeopardy.

SIGN UP HERE "That’s the only thing, the only game I’ve been thinking about while being bedridden is the Christmas Day game,” McGee said to Haynes. “No offense to the other teams, but that’s really important to me. I’ve got to get better for that game.
"That’s the homecoming, the ring ceremony. It’s really important.”
Andre Iguodala and the Warriors will present McGee with his championship ring for the 2017-18 season.
"We're excited to see him," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. "He was a huge contributor here."

McGee played the last two seasons with the Warriors, winning two championships. In his stint for Golden State, he averaged 5.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 9.5 minutes per game.
Now as a starter in Los Angeles, McGee is averaging a career-high 11.8 points per game, with 6.7 rebounds and 2.6 blocks in 23.5 minutes a night.
