Today is not a good day for college basketball, and the latest news certainly will catch the attention of the Warriors' front office.
Memphis big man James Wiseman -- the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft -- has withdrawn from the school in order to prepare for the draft.
He announced the update on Instagram:

Shortly thereafter, Shams Charania of The Athletic revealed more details.
The 7-foot-1 freshman was slated to return from his NCAA-imposed suspension Jan. 12. Instead, his college career is over.
Wiseman is listed as the No. 3 overall pick in ESPN's most recent mock draft.

If the NBA season ended today, the Warriors would enter the NBA Draft Lottery with the best odds of landing the top overall selection and could finish no worse than fifth.
Golden State general manager Bob Myers and other Warriors executives scouted Wiseman in person on Nov. 12 when Memphis played Oregon at the Moda Center in Portland.
