Jonathan Kuminga's playing time has been limited the last 10 days, and the Warriors' game against the San Antonio Spurs at AT&T Center looked like another night where the rookie wouldn't get on the court much.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr didn't use Kuminga at all in the first quarter against the Spurs, but 19-year-old was inserted into the game early in the second quarter and he made his presence felt.
Kuminga ended up playing the final 10:40 of the second quarter and he finished with 13 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the field, 1-of-1 from 3-point range and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. He also grabbed three rebounds, had one assist and two steals.

That one assist was as good as it gets. Kuminga forced a turnover and then heaved a three-quarters court pass to Gary Payton II for the layup.
It's still unclear what Kuminga's role in the NBA playoffs will be. For most of January, February and March, he was playing at least 20 minutes a game. But in three of the last four games, he played less than eight minutes.
Kerr and the Warriors have given Kuminga a long lease at times, but they also are ramping up towards the playoffs and know that mistakes are amplified this time of the year.
