Andre Iguodala always will be a big fan of Steph Curry, whether they're teammates or not. But when the two face each other Wednesday night with the Miami Heat coming to Chase Center to play the Warriors, Iguodala hopes Curry takes it down a notch on an old friend.
"Hopefully you don't get caught up in a trick bag," Iguodala said Wednesday to reporters via Zoom. "He might end my career or something like that. I'm old, my body's brittle. So hopefully he takes it easy on me if we get in a cross matchup -- one dribble, pull-up. Not those hesi hesi hesi hesi hesis from halfcourt."

This will be Iguodala's second time facing the Warriors since his Golden State tenure ended after the 2018-19 season when he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. He scored two points, recorded five rebounds and dished two assists off the bench when the Heat beat the Warriors 113-101 on Feb. 10, 2020.
But Curry didn't play that game. He still was rehabbing from a fractured hand, so this will be a first for him and Iguodala in a long time.

Iguodala is averaging just 4.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists while playing 21.3 minutes per game for the Heat this season. But his impact always has gone beyond the box score. The 17-year veteran is one of the smartest players in the NBA and still can be a lockdown defender.

Even after his time with the Warriors, Iguodala stands up for Curry and he of course knows the Warriors superstar is playing at an MVP level right now. They'll be friendly before and after the game, and maybe even a bit during it, but there's no doubt Curry would love to cross his old teammate a time or two tonight.
