Andre Iguodala has been around the NBA for a long time. He has played with a lot of all-time greats and has seen his fair share of young players come into the league looking to maximize their potential.
Back with the Warriors after a two-year stint with the Miami Heat, Iguodala has gotten his first up-close glimpse of third-year pro Jordan Poole.
At this point in his young career, Poole is known more for his scoring. But on occasion, he'll have a high-assist night as he did in the Warriors' 128-112 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night at Chase Center.

Poole dished out a career-high 11 assists while finishing with just 19 points, snapping his 17-game streak with at least 20 points.
Iguodala was asked after the win to evaluate Poole's passing ability by The Associated Press' Janie McCauley.
"We joke about him, [Nemanja Bjelica] and myself, because we were in Miami together and we got to see Tyler Herro play," Iguodala said. "I don't think people knew quite how good of a passer Tyler was. And we joke, we call both of them "Wonder Boys" because they are both from Milwaukee and they both have that flare and flash to their game. They both can score at a very high clip. And that can sometimes take away from the other parts of their game that they are pretty good at. They both have really good left hands, they both make those cross-court passes with one hand."
Herro and Poole both were members of the 2019 NBA Draft class with the former going No. 13 overall to Miami and the latter going No. 28 overall to Golden State.
Herro had more immediate success in the NBA than Poole did, but Poole is starting to catch up. And while both are under team control for the 2022-23 NBA season, they are eligible to sign the rookie max extension this summer. Per Spotrac.com, that deal for each player could be worth up to five years and $184 million.

"And it's funny," Iguodala said. "I'm hearing Tyler is looking at a max contract and I'm laughing at Jordan ... same thing. Just continuing to develop your game. He's a workhorse. He's in the gym every single day, he's early, he's leaving late. He loves the gym. There's just that hump he's got to get over in terms of understanding what impact on the game means when it's really important. They are very similar in those ways ... because Tyler got to experience that in the bubble, playing deep into the playoffs, having those great playoff games and has been able to elevate his game. I'm seeing the same trajectory with Jordan."

Poole has been one of the Warriors' most reliable players this season, having played in 74 of their 80 games. He's averaging over 18 points a game and has developed into a lethal scoring option for coach Steve Kerr either in the starting lineup or coming off the bench.
It remains to be seen what the Warriors do with Poole's contract situation this summer, but it's clear Iguodala believes the Michigan product deserves to be rewarded for his hard work and performance.
