The Warriors made a blockbuster trade just before last season's NBA trade deadline when they struck a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Might they execute another one before this year's March 25 deadline?
ESPN on Wednesday morning put together an article entitled, "Five big trades we want to see at the 2021 NBA trade deadline," and one involves Golden State and the Atlanta Hawks.

Warriors get: John Collins, Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish and 2021 first-round pick (from Hawks)
Hawks get: Eric Paschall, Kent Bazemore, Damion Lee, Jordan Poole, Marquese Chriss, Mychal Mulder, 2021 top-three protected first-round pick (from the Minnesota Timberwolves)
Collins is averaging 18.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks through 35 games (all starts) this season, while shooting 54 percent overall and 38.2 percent from 3-point range (on 3.5 attempts).

The main reason this hypothetical trade got put together is because Collins and the Hawks failed to come to terms on a contract extension before the season started.
As a result, the 23-year-old power forward -- who reportedly turned down a deal worth more than $90 million because he believes he is worth the max -- will be a restricted free agent this summer. And the assumption is that he isn't long for Atlanta.
So if the Warriors did acquire Collins, they definitely would have to fork up the money to keep him. And when you look at the franchise's future salary obligations, doing so would send the luxury tax bill into an insane stratosphere.
Also, how would the No. 19 overall pick from the 2017 NBA Draft fit on a roster that already has Draymond Green and James Wiseman? That could be an issue.

Furthermore, that Hawks first-rounder going to the Warriors is quite the wild card. It would be the No. 9 overall pick as of today, which in theory would be pretty valuable. The Hawks just fired their head coach Lloyd Pierce and very much want to win right now. But they ultimately might not be able to gain much traction in the standings, and would be left without a first-rounder this year if the T-Wolves end up keeping the selection (it is top-three protected).
Also, it's possible that the Warriors already have determined they simply aren't trading that Minny pick. Or, they only would go that route if they net a star-level player who is in a tier (or two) above Collins.
So while the front offices for the Warriors and Hawks are very familiar with one another (Atlanta general manager Travis Schlenk worked for Golden State for over a decade), you probably shouldn't expect to see this trade come to fruition.
