It looks like Glen Taylor may not own the Minnesota Timberwolves for much longer.
The billionaire businessman has hired The Raine Group to sell his franchise, three people told Scott Soshnick of Sportico.
This development should be of interest to Warriors fans everywhere because Golden State owns the Timberwolves' 2021 top-three protected first-round pick (which becomes unprotected in 2022).

And if Golden State doesn't trade that asset this offseason, Dub Nation will be following Minnesota's 2020-21 season very closely -- with most agreeing that the Warriors ending up with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft as the best-case scenario.
That can only happen if former Golden State guard D'Angelo Russell and his teammates lose a lot of games (plus some lottery luck), which is no sure thing. One could argue that an ownership change will lead to some turmoil and uncertainty surrounding the organization, which will have a negative impact on the court.

But when you consider the fact the T-Wolves made the playoffs one time in the last 16 seasons, a new owner might immediately lead to more wins.

Or the sale won't impact Minnesota's record next year whatsoever. Only time will tell.
As for some details surrounding the potential transaction, Soshnick writes:
"There are several parties who have bid on the team, two of the people said. A deal could be completed within a month, one of the people said. ... Taylor is seeking at least $1.2 billion for the franchise that Forbes says is worth $1.38 billion, one of the people said."
