It seems like not so long ago that Steph Curry was sitting on the Warriors' bench in street clothes with his butt pad, watching Golden State's season and his MVP campaign go down the drain.

Never bet against Wardell Stephen Curry II, though.

Curry might as well have been auditioning for the role of Johnny Storm during the month of April. The Warriors star has been engulfed in flames over the past 10 games, averaging 40.8 points per game while shooting 54.9 percent from the field, 50.3 percent from 3-point range and 90.9 percent from the free throw line.

During this incredible run, Curry has brought the Warriors back to .500 and has seen his MVP odds skyrocket like a GameStop stock after Reddit gets ahold of it.

Per PointsBet, Curry was plus-5000 (bet $100 to win $5,000) to win the MVP on March 29. That number went up to plus-6000 on April 3 and sat at plus-10000 on April 10. However, over the past 10 days, Curry's odds have skyrocketed and he now sits at plus-2000, tied with James Harden for the fifth-best odds.

Only Nikola Jokic (minus-400), Joel Embiid (plus-320), Giannis Antetokounmpo (plus-1600) and Luka Doncic (plus-1800) sit above Curry on the odds board.

Back at the NBA All-Star break, I predicted Curry would finish fourth in the MVP race. There's a good chance that I will have shorted the two-time MVP once the smoke clears from his hellacious onslaught.

Shame on me.
