How NBA execs believe healthy Warriors will do in 2020-21 season

Will the Warriors have a legitimate shot at competing for a championship in the 2020-21 season?

There are a million reasons as to why it's way too early to be able to answer that question.

But if we assume Klay Thompson returns to full strength following his left ACL tear -- and if Steph Curry stays fully healthy -- Golden State certainly will bounce back from its disastrous 2019-20 campaign.

Here is what two NBA executives said to Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report regarding the Warriors' outlook:

"They're not (going to be) as good as the Lakers or the Clippers the next few years," said a Western Conference executive who asked that his name and title not be used.

"I don't think it's realistic [that they'll be title contenders], but they'll still be one of the top teams in the West," an Eastern Conference GM says.

Until we find out what the Warriors do in the 2020 NBA Draft and free agency (and it's completely unclear at this point when those events will take place), we simply can't forecast much.

But the financial fallout from the coronavirus could impact how much ownership is willing to spend.

Hopefully, we will be able to have a more robust conversation on this topic by the time the summer winds down.
