How Ferrell's Jackie Moon surprise for Klay originated

The Warriors might have just received the boost they needed on Tuesday night.

Beating the Los Angeles Clippers 112-97 at Chase Center, Golden State snapped a five-game losing streak.

Before the game, it was clear that the vibes were different on Tuesday, mostly due to the presence of basketball legend, Jackie Moon.

Klay Thompson, who is a big fan of Will Ferrell's character from the movie Semi-Pro, was surprised by none other than the man himself during the Warriors' warmup session.

After the game, coach Steve Kerr explained how the surprise came to be, revealing that Ferrell actually reached out to him through email.

"He actually emailed me a while back and I didn't believe it was him," Kerr told reporters after the game. "So we exchanged a couple of emails and concocted the plan. He's a huge Klay Thompson fan and he knows how much Klay loves dressing up as Jackie Moon, so it was just a natural fit and felt like a good time to do it, just to make everyone laugh in a tough stretch of the season.

"He was great, he came into the locker room and made the guys laugh and everybody loved seeing him and hearing from him. He was hilarious. It was just something different to do."

As a player, coach and owner of the Flint Tropics, Jackie Moon already wears many hats.

With Draymond Green and James Wiseman nearing returns as the Warriors are on the mend, maybe they could still use some bench depth from an unlikely source?

Maybe Jackie Moon will be available for the Warriors on the buyout market.
