There is no doubt the Warriors and their fans miss five-time All-Star Klay Thompson on the court.
But Thompson’s impact goes far beyond Dub Nation.
During his final stage of rehab, the sharp-shooter is practicing with the Santa Cruz Warriors as his highly-anticipated return nears.

Thompson nailed the game-winning three while scrimmaging with the Sea Dubs on Tuesday, further increasing the excitement and eagerness of his comeback for those watching him.
“I hate to use the phrase ‘can’t wait’ because I love to be present in my life,” Thompson said last week. “But I cannot wait. I really, really enjoy being a Warrior.”
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant, who is expected to miss a couple of weeks with a sprained left knee, said the game of basketball needs Klay back.
The 22-year-old point guard is in his third season with Memphis and was averaging 24.1 points per game, 5.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists before his injury.
Thompson’s absence on the hardwood for more than two years has prevented the world from witnessing the two guards play against each other, as Morant was drafted No. 2 overall in 2019.

But if Christmas does come early this year and Thompson returns before that expected Dec. 25 date, fans might be able to watch Thompson and Morant on the same court when the Warriors host the Grizzlies on Dec. 23 at Chase Center.
If either player isn’t fully healthy in time for that December matchup, no worries. The teams meet again in January and March 2022.
