The Warriors hope Kobe Bryant will be able to play Sunday, when they face the Lakers in their final regular-season trip to Los Angeles.

The Warriors (55-5) also hope to extend their latest win streak to eight while also moving two games ahead of the record pace set by the 1995-96 Bulls, who were 54-7 after 61 games before finishing 72-10.

The Warriors are seeking their first season-series sweep of the Lakers since the team moved to Staples Center in 1999.

The Lakers (12-51) continue to struggle, most recently in a 29-point loss to Atlanta on Friday night in Los Angeles.

Bryant in his farewell season has missed three of the last four games with soreness in his right shoulder. He did not participate in practice Saturday.

MATCHUP TO WATCH

Stephen Curry vs. D’Angelo Russell: Now a fixture in the starting lineup, Russell has shown flashes of the talent that persuaded the Lakers to take him No. 2 overall in the 2015 draft. Curry, though, is the most recent Western Conference Player of the Month and on a path to win a second consecutive MVP award. Asking Russell to offset Curry simply is not fair.
