The Warriors, who have spent the first six weeks sprinting past milestones and rewriting record books, have an opportunity to do more of the same Tuesday night in Indianapolis.

With a win over the Pacers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, the Warriors (22-0) would extend their overall streak to 27, tying the 2012-13 Heat for the second-longest win streak in NBA history. They also would be the first team to open a season with 13 consecutive road victories.

But Steph Curry and his teammates must go through an Indiana team featuring forward Paul George, who has been nearly as good as Curry. George is third in scoring, at 27.6 points per game; Curry is first at 32.4. Curry ranks third in 3-point shooting percentage (47.2); George is eighth (45.4).

The Pacers, who have adopted an uptempo offense, rank second in 3-point shooting percentage, behind only the Warriors.

MATCHUP TO WATCH

Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala vs. Paul George -- Green typically harasses the opponent’s most dangerous forward (see Griffin, Blake), which means he’ll get George. Coming off a devastating leg injury sustained in the summer of 2014, George is showing no signs of physical wear. He overcame initial reluctance to move to power forward and is thriving in that role. Green and Iguodala must defend effectively while avoiding foul trouble, something easier said than done.

SERIES HISTORY

QUOTABLE

“We told them this is one of the best teams we’re going play so far . . . They’re a confident group that’s been deep into the playoffs. They’re playing a different brand of basketball now, but they’ve got a lot of those same core guys. And Paul George is playing as well as anybody right now.” – Interim Warriors coach Luke Walton
