Hughes put up big numbers at Syracuse as a primary scoring option last season. He played on the back line of Jim Boeheim’s zone defensive scheme, so there are some concerns about his ability to defend at a high level. For a mid-to-late second rounder, there is a lot to like. He can handle the ball, work as a secondary distributor and hit from the perimeter. He’s also an older prospect with a defined game that could earn minutes as a back or the rotation player.

The son of long time NBA forward Kenyon Martin Sr, Junior has taken a complicated path to the league through the IMG Academy. He’s young, athletic and has potential, but his overall game is still developing. He has his father’s athleticism, although in a small forward body. There’s a chance he can find his way to the league, but it will likely take a few stops in the G League and some long hours with a professional training staff.

A lot of prospects around this range are raw and teams draft them with the hopes of molding them into something more. Nwora has already gone through that process and knows who he is. There is a lot to like from the Louisville wing. He has good size, close to a 6-foot-11 wingspan and he knows how to play the game. This is a solid prospect for teams looking for a quality shooter with a high basketball IQ that can step on the court and play in year one.

One of the top Junior College players in the country, Scrubb chose to enter the draft instead of heading to Louisville for the 2020-21 season. His 3-point shooting numbers dipped in his sophomore season at John A. Logan, but he has a ton of potential. He’s a three-level scorer with big-time athleticism and length. In the right situation, he might develop into a 3-and-D wing, but he’ll need plenty of work, likely at the G League level.

Jones likes to have the ball in his hands, which might be an issue in Golden State. He can shoot from the perimeter and create for himself and others, but his real skill is breaking teams down off the dribble, drawing contact and scoring. The sophomore averaged 9.1 free throw attempts per game, where he knocked down 82.6 percent. He’s a fearless competitor who isn’t shy about hoisting up a shot, regardless of his location on the court.
