Earlier this week, we learned that Matt Hurwitz -- the Warriors' PA announcer since December 2000 -- will not return for the 2018-19 season.
The team informed him that it was simply going in a different direction.
On Friday morning, Hurwitz joined Monte Poole on the Warriors Insider Podcast to discuss his 18 seasons with the franchise.

One topic: the Warriors reaching the playoffs in 2007 for the first time since 1994.
"The playoff run against Dallas -- to this day, I will say without hesitation --the loudest Oracle's ever been for a basketball game; a live basketball game," Hurwitz said. "I say live because when we did clinch that first championship in Cleveland -- and we had an open house viewing party -- that place rocked and gave We Believe a good run for its money.
"But the We Believe game, for actual oncourt postgame -- loudest ever. Very special. I remember the confetti coming down like it was yesterday. We have an NBA rep next to us with a sound meter to measure the decibel level and I remember running up to Tim Roye and giving him a little post-it note saying, 'I think we hit 116 or 118 decibels' because I was watching it tweak up during the game.
"It was just incredible, and it was such a magical season."

On May 3, 2007, the No. 8 seed Warriors crushed the No. 1 seed Mavericks, 111-86, in Game 6 to advance to the Western Conference Semifinals.
Stephen Jackson was the best player on the floor that night, registering 33 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. He went 7-for-8 from beyond the arc.
The Warriors have won three of the last four titles, yet it was an opening-round win in 2007 that was the loudest Oracle has ever been.
