Calderon was targeted by the Warriors prior to Kevin Durant's knee injury. Once the All-Star forward went down in Washington, the Warriors needed a forward.
Out went Calderon. In came former Warrior and free agent Matt Barnes.
With the Hawks claiming Calderon, the Warriors are not responsible for the remainder of his contract, according to The Vertical. Calderon is also eligible for the playoffs due to the Warriors waiving him on Wednesday.
