Editor's note: Twice a week during this sports hiatus, we'll answer questions that Bay Area sports fans long have debated in "Ever Wonder?"  This Tuesday: Where did the Run TMC nickname come from?

Before Steph Curry and Klay Thompson dazzled Warriors fans with their 3-point shooting, Dub Nation was brought to its feet by a trio of stars who seemed destined to take the NBA by storm.

Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin played together for two seasons and their up-tempo brand of basketball was a sight to behold. Along with their high-octane attack, the Warriors' famed trio was given a nickname that was destined to stick through the ages: Run TMC.

The run-and-gun Warriors were way ahead of their time when it came to tempo, spacing and playing in transition. They remain one of the biggest what-ifs in NBA history, with many believing the Run TMC Warriors would have been a force for years to come.
