Durant joins two NBA legends, puts stamp on Warriors win

NEW ORLEANS – Kevin Durant didn’t need much time to get his second consecutive double-double, notching in 20 first-half minutes.

He also put his name next to a couple legends before the night was over.

Durant posted 18 points and 10 rebounds before halftime and went on to total 30 points, 17 boards and six assists as the Warriors put away the Pelicans 122-114 on Friday night at Smoothie King Center.

Durant joined Wilt Chamberlain as the only Warriors to score at least 20 points and grab at least 10 rebounds in their first two games with the team.

Though Durant missed all three of his 3-point attempts, he made all 12 of his free-throw attempts.

Durant has now scored at least 20 points in 66 consecutive games, the longest streak in the NBA since Michael Jordan went 69 games in a row in 1990-91.
