Durant, Cousins shine for Team USA in win over Argentina

The United States Men's Basketball team, led by new Warriors forward Kevin Durant, made an emphatic statement as the road to the Rio Olympic Games began in Las Vegas on Friday. 

Durant scored a game-high 23 points in Team USA's 111-74 victory. Warriors teammate Klay Thompson scored nine points while Draymond Green added three points, three rebounds and three assists in just under 12 minutes of basketball.

The Warriors' trio hit six 3-pointers on the night. 

Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins tallied a double-double on the night with 14 points and 15 rebounds. His 15 rebounds led all players on Friday.

Former Warriors forward Harrison Barnes played 13 minutes on Friday and scored four points on 2-of-4 shooting from the field. 

For Argentina, Andres Nocioni led the Albicelestes with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Up next for Team USA is Los Angeles and the Staples Center on July 24 for the first of two games against China. 

Tip off for Sunday's game is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Team USA and Durant will make a stop at Oracle Arena for the second game against China on Tuesday, July 26. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
