Draymond missed postgame celebrations because of Finals ‘fog'

Draymond Green doesn't remember a lot of the Warriors' postgame celebration after Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.

And not for the reason you think.

After the grind that was the 2021-22 season and a lengthy run that resulted in Golden State's fourth championship in eight seasons, Draymond and the Warriors were exhausted.

On the latest episode of "The Draymond Green Show," the Warriors forward explained why his post-Finals podcast episode that he recorded at the arena shortly after winning was so "terrible" and why he ended up missing the champagne celebration and other festivities.

"It was terrible because I was still in the fog, I didn't know what was going on," Green said. "I'm sure you'd watch that and be like 'Draymond didn't give us much of anything.' I had nothing left to give, I was absolutely exhausted. And again, further explaining the fog that I was in, I totally missed the champagne celebration, totally missed it. They did a little do-over for me when I came in the locker room. If you watch any of the clips the Warriors posted from the champagne celebration, you notice you only see me in a five-second clip, maybe for five seconds. And it's really only me sitting there spraying the champagne because I missed the whole celebration. Again, just in a fog on the court, I'm standing on the court and not realizing pretty much anything that's going on around me."

Draymond also didn't take many pictures with his teammates and ended up missing most of the after-party held at a club at the arena.

"So I missed that. I then proceeded to miss pictures with everyone," Draymond added. "So if you see the pictures, I think there may be a picture of me and Klay [Thompson]. Maybe me and Klay ... I think it's me and Klay. But I don't have a picture with me and Steph [Curry] or me and Steve [Kerr] ... I totally missed that part of things. I then proceeded to miss 90 percent of the after-party that we had in TD Garden and some club they got in. Like who knew there was a club in TD Garden. I missed like 90 percent of the after-party.

Warriors' simplest solution to avoid spiraling at worst time

Why Marks was 'embarrassed' by Heat fans cheering Butler in return

"For me, my emotions were all over the place. A part of me is sitting there watching the younger guys and enjoying seeing them win their first championship. A part of me is sitting there trying to process 'we just won our fourth championship.'"

Working as hard and for as long as Draymond and the Warriors did, it's only natural that the exhaustion eventually takes over.

Fortunately, the 32-year-old already has won four championships and has more experience celebrating than most players in the league could ever dream of.
