Draymond Green loves hearing boos, especially from disgruntled fans of a team who his Warriors have had success against.
In his eyes, booing the opposing team is part of the game, that's normal. What isn't normal, is when fans start to boo their own team, not the opponent, as Los Angeles Lakers fans did last Sunday night in the Lakers' 123-95 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans at Crypto.com Arena.
On the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors forward criticized the Los Angeles fans who booed superstar LeBron James and the struggling Lakers.

"I have to speak on the boos (Sunday night). I thought that was insane, to be quite honest," Green said. "From an organization that has had so much success, to start booing when things aren't going right ... that's kinda whack to me. And then everyone gets upset if a player comes out and says 'well forget them fans, they're not with us anyway.' Then everyone seems to get upset and uptight about it, but as athletes, we're just supposed to sit back and be like 'oh, they're booing us.'
"Quite frankly, most of those people in that arena don't know how it feels to get booed. I guess I can cut a little slack in you not understanding how it feels to get booed by your own. For me, I actually like getting booed, like when I come to (Crypto.com Arena) boo me all you want, that's fine. Cavs fans did it all weekend at All-Star weekend, I enjoy it. But to get booed by your own fans, it's very distasteful and disgraceful and I was shocked to see that."
Boos rained down from the crowd throughout the game, but most notably after James committed a costly turnover. Many believe that LeBron is having one of the better seasons of his career, another MVP-caliber campaign. He's the furthest thing from the issue with the Lakers on the court and Draymond believes that the fans who were booing were acting like "spoiled brats."
"Some boos came out when [LeBron James] threw the turnover ... he didn't complete it yesterday and the boos came out," Green explained. "I thought that was pathetic, I thought that was extremely pathetic and like I said, I thought it was very distasteful from a fanbase of an organization that has the most championships in the NBA. Let's not be spoiled brats. It's okay to be spoiled ... but let's not be brats. That was about as bratty as something that I've seen, considering that this team just won a championship not even a full two years ago and now you're booing? I thought that was utterly ridiculous and like I said, it was very distasteful."

The Lakers, a superstar-laden team that many expected to run away with the Western Conference and eventually another championship, have been nothing short of disappointing this season. Los Angeles currently holds the No. 9 seed in the conference with an abysmal record of 27-35.
Lakers fans certainly have a right to feel upset regarding their team's underperformance, especially given that the team features a trio of James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. In Draymond's opinion, though, it should never result in booing your own team.
