Draymond Green was being tee'd up to praise the Phoenix Suns, who are 4-0 so far in the NBA restart in Orlando, Florida.
Instead, the Warriors All-Star forward might be hearing from the NBA soon.
Appearing on TNT's pregame show prior to the Orlando Magic-Philadelphia 76ers game on Friday, Green essentially called for the Suns to trade All-Star guard Devin Booker, who is playing really well in the bubble.

"It's great to see Book playing well and Phoenix playing well, but get my man out of Phoenix," Green told hosts Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley on "Inside the NBA." "It's not good for him. It's not good for his career. Sorry, Chuck. But they gotta get Book out of Phoenix. I need my man somewhere he can play great basketball all the time and win because he's that type of player."
When Johnson asked if he was tampering, Green offered a one-word response.
"Maybe," Green said.
For those wondering, Booker is about to finish the first season of a five-year, $158 million contract extension he signed with the Suns. The Warriors wouldn't be able to fit that contract on the books unless traded away Andrew Wiggins, who is making similar money to Booker the next few years.
Now, let's be clear. it didn't sound like Green was campaigning for Booker to be traded to the Warriors, as that scenario would be extremely unlikely.

It would be hard to see the Suns trading Booker within the Pacific Division to the Warriors without hefty draft pick compensation in addition to Wiggins.
And with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson expected to be healthy for the start of the 2020-21 season, Booker might not be the ideal fit for the team. The Warriors tried to see if D'Angelo Russell would fit and that didn't work, though he didn't play much with Curry and not at all with Thompson. Booker, who is 23, is a better all-around player than Russell, but the two have similar usage rates this season (Booker -- 29.7 Usage Percentage, Russell -- 29.5 Usage Percentage).

As for Green, the NBA won't like a current player campaigning to get one of his peers out of a bad situation.
What Green said surely was entertaining, but it might also be costly.
