Remember when the Warriors played the Clippers 2.5 weeks ago and Draymond Green didn't pass the ball to Kevin Durant with about five seconds left in regulation? Remember when Draymond ended up losing control of the ball, and he and Kevin Durant got into a heated argument on the Warriors bench that resulted in a one-game suspension for Green?

Or did you block all of that from your memory?

Well, on Thursday morning, NBC Sports NBA Insider Tom Haberstroh wrote a feature that includes a statistic that relates to that fateful night in Los Angeles:

Remember that blow-up between Green and Durant? I’ve written here about how Draymond had a point. But Durant’s beef about Draymond hogging the ball? That may be spot-on, too. Green has zero assists in 40 minutes of clutch play. Durant has eight. I mean, Kevon Looney has two. I repeat: Green has zero.

Last season, we didn’t see this oddity. Green led the team with 17 clutch assists in 85 minutes, or one every five minutes. Maybe this changes with a larger sample size. Maybe it’s bad luck. But get your popcorn, this is something to watch.

The definition for "clutch play" in this context is when there is less than five minutes left in the game and the score is within five points.

Warriors report card: Team grades for roller coaster 2024-25 season

Not only has Draymond yet to register an assist this season in the clutch, but he also has three turnovers -- two more than any other Warrior. This truly is shocking.

Now, on a lighter note: Klay Thompson and Durant have shared the court for 584 minutes this season, and Klay has only assisted Durant on five buckets. Conversely, Durant has assisted Klay 38 times.

That is funny.
