Draymond Green gets hyped for Emoni Bates' Michigan State commitment

So it's no surprise that the Warriors forward was excited when top high school prospect Emoni Bates announced he was committing to Michigan State on Monday.

Bates, a 6-foot-9, 200-pound small forward, is the No. 1 high school player in the class of 2022, so it will be a few years before he steps onto the East Lansing campus.

According to ESPN, Bates will leave Lincoln High School in Ypsilanti, Michigan to attend a prep school for the next two years.

Green spent four years playing for Coach Tom Izzo at Michigan State, and he had his jersey retired by the school in December. His love for his alma mater runs deep.

While Michigan State consistently makes the NCAA Tournament, they haven't won the national championship since the 1999-00 season. Green helped the Spartans reach the championship game his freshman year and the Final Four in his sophomore year.

But it's Green’s hope that Bates can push Izzo and Michigan State back to the top of the mountain in a few years.
