Draymond discloses Durant's most ‘incredible' habit

For three seasons, Draymond Green had a firsthand look at how Kevin Durant operates.

(On the night of Nov. 12, 2018, perhaps a bit too close of a look.)

The two All-Stars were teammates on the Warriors from 2016-19 and brought a pair of NBA championships to the Bay Area in that span.

On Tuesday, Green joined “The Starting Lineup” podcast and shared, in his opinion, the most incredible thing Durant does on a daily basis.

“Kevin has this one thing about him that I think is the most insane thing I’ve ever seen from a basketball player,” Green said. “Every coach, anybody who’s anybody, has this old, cliché saying of every move you make in your workout, it need to be game speed. I feel like, personally, it’s one of the most cliché sayings that anyone could come up with.

“Except for Kevin. He literally does every single move when he’s on the basketball floor at game speed. Whether he’s just now coming out warming up, whether he’s an hour-and-a-half into the workout, every single move every time he steps on the floor, it’s game speed.

"And I think it is the most incredible thing in the world because no one does that.”

Green and Durant both are currently on contending teams but nursing injuries. Aside from his seven seconds of action on the night of Klay Thompson’s return, Green hasn’t played since Jan. 5. During the All-Star Game on Sunday, he offered a timeline of three to four weeks to return to the floor for the Warriors.

Durant, sidelined with a sprained MCL in his left knee, has been out since Jan. 15 and his timetable for a return is uncertain.

Especially after the Brooklyn Nets’ blockbuster trade for Ben Simmons at the deadline, it’s possible Draymond and Durant could clash in the NBA Finals.

If it comes to that, hopefully Golden State can slow down Durant’s game speed a tad.
