Stephen Curry attended Davidson for three seasons -- 2006-07 through 2008-09.
He entered the 2009 NBA Draft after his junior year, and did not earn his undergraduate degree.
As a result, he will not have his jersey retired by the school until he gets that diploma.

"I knew what I signed up for when I went to Davidson," Curry told ESPN's C.L. Brown this week. "I made a promise to coach [Bob] McKillop and my family that when I left school back in '09 that that would be accomplished -- and it will be soon. Hopefully sooner than later."
Curry attended Davidson's game on Tuesday night -- a 109-74 win over Charlotte. Junior guard Jack Gibbs scored 41 points (14-17 FG, 6-7 3s, 7-9 FTs).
On Wednesday night, the 2015 NBA MVP couldn't quite one-up Gibbs, but he did drop 40 points on his hometown Hornets, including 28 in the third quarter.
As a freshman at Davidson, Curry averaged 21.5 points and 2.8 assists per game. He made 122 3-pointers and shot 40.8 percent from deep.

As a sophomore, Curry averaged 25.9 points and 2.9 assists per contest, while drilling 162 3-pointers at a 43.9 percent clip. His Wildcats upset Gonzaga (Curry scored 40 points), Georgetown and Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament, before falling to eventual national champion Kansas in the Elite 8.
As a junior, Curry registered 28.6 points and 5.6 assists per night, and made 130 treys. His percentage from beyond the arc did drop to 38.7 percent.
When will Curry have the opportunity to go back to school?
"It's still a priority for sure; obviously there's a lot going on right now," Curry said. "Taking advantage of my career right now on the court in the NBA, it's only a very short window, so you want to give all the attention and effort. But to be able to finish out that part of my life, whenever it does happen, will be huge."
As Curry told Brown, he has "researched a plan of attack of how to get it done."
Even the most popular basketball player on the planet right now isn't getting special treatment.
"There has not been an exemption for it, to my understanding, for anyone," Davidson athletic director Jim Murphy told Brown. "The policy itself speaks a lot to what Davidson is all about. It'd be an interesting discussion, but it hasn't been started yet...
"It's one of those things where, I'm not even sure who would make that decision to be honest with you, just because it's never come up before. I assume it would be the board of trustees."
