A few hours after passing him for second all-time atop the career 3-point leaderboard, Steph Curry paid tribute to Reggie Miller on Instagram, saying he was "thankful for the moments."
"Reggie Miller was my FAVORITE growing up," Curry said in a caption. "He made shooting, extending your range, and moving without the ball look fun to me. Had to throw up the #31 up tonight moving up the list. Much respect my man."
Entering Saturday's contest against the Utah Jazz, Curry trailed Reggie Miller by three 3-pointers. The Warriors star quickly sank two in the first quarter before tying Miller with a long-range shot at the top of the key with 3:21 remaining in the half.
He did indeed throw up the No. 31, the only jersey number Miller wore in his 18-year career with the Indiana Pacers.
Curry officially passed the NBA Hall of Famer early in the third quarter. He dished out a give-and-go pass to Draymond Green, relocated to the corner and sunk the 2,561st 3-pointer of his career.
Curry finished with 24 points, seven rebounds and seven assists over 27 minutes, with 15 points coming from downtown.
"We got our head beat tonight, but I was trying to still enjoy it," Curry said after the game. "After I made the third one, I knew that was a big one, and then to make that fourth one in the third quarter was pretty special. Something I've been looking forward to for a very long time."

It was clearly an impactful night for Curry, despite the Warriors falling to the Jazz, 127-108. During his postgame press conference, Curry spoke on the meaning passing Miller had to him, not knowing both Miller and his young son Ryker were on the Zoom call.
Miller congratulated Curry on his accomplishments, saying "You are such an inspiration for little ones, like my son."

Ryker was indeed dressed in a Curry jersey, and told the two-time NBA MVP he had "all of his jerseys and shoes."
After a historic night, Curry made sure the NBA world knew he wasn't done. At the end of his tribute to Miller, Curry penned "More to come to catch Ray."
That was a nod to Ray Allen, who sits atop the leaderboard with 2,973.
