Curry, not completely pain-free, upgraded to probable for Game 4

HOUSTON – All indications are Stephen Curry will be in the Warriors lineup for Game 4 against the Rockets on Sunday afternoon.

Curry went through a full scrimmage Saturday afternoon at Toyota Center and afterward continued to work on his shooting for another half hour and sounded as he anticipates returning after a two-game absence.

“I’ll still get some treatment and do what I need to do to get ready for the game (Sunday),” he said. “I’ll go out and warm up, and as long as it continues to feel like it does right now – and not have any setbacks after practice today – I should be good.”

The Warriors have upgraded Curry from questionable (50 percent chance of playing) to probable (75 percent) on the official injury report.

He’s not completely pain-free, though, and emphasized that’s not unusual for an NBA player after a full season.

“It’s soreness that comes along with all that my ankle has been through,” he said. “It’s to be expected. I see it as this is kind of my playoff thing. Everybody has something they’re dealing with in some way, shape or form. It’s stable. There’s no swelling or anything, so I can do everything I need to do.”

Curry participated in a 5-on-5 scrimmage and did well, aside from getting beaten on a couple backdoor plays and giving up a jumper to Ian Clark.
