Ceballos: Barkley dominates Green, Suns beat Warriors ‘easy'

The 1993-94 Suns went 56-26 during the regular season, and earned the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.

They lost to the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Semifinals.

According to Cedric Ceballos, they would have no problem beating the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors in a seven-game series.

"Easy," Ceballos told Steve Gorman of Fox Sports. "Don't get me wrong, Draymond is playing unbelievable, but he wouldn't do anything with Charles Barkley. It would be so ridiculous what that guy would get done to him.

"And if you don't believe me, just ask everybody else at his size, who can move, that tried to guard the guy back in the day."

In 1993-94, Barkley averaged 21.6 points, 11.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game, while shooting 27 percent from beyond the arc.

Do Steph, Warriors need more shooting after postseason struggles?

This year, Draymond is averaging 14 points, 9.6 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game, while shooting 40.2 percent from deep.

He finished runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year last season and is considered one of the front-runners again this year.

Ceballos then raved about point guard Kevin Johnson, while calling out Steph Curry's defense.

"And then you go with K.J. ... Steph Curry unbelievable shooter, but he (Johnson) was a point guard's nightmare because he was so strong and loved going to the basket. That's one thing that these teams do not do. They do not expose Steph and the way he plays defense.

"They (the Warriors) do hide him a lot, and they have a great shot blocker in Bogues (Bogut) back there ... I don't think he (Johnson) would have had a problem with this Golden State team."

In 1993-94, Johnson averaged 20 points and 9.5 assists per contest. He made six 3-pointers all season (67 games) and was named Second-Team All-NBA.

This year, Curry is averaging 30.4 points and 6.7 assists per contest, while shooting 46 percent from deep. He made 10 treys on Thursday against the Magic, and is at 276 3-pointers over 55 games.

Ceballos specifically said the 1993-94 Suns was Phoenix's best team, not the 1992-93 squad that won 62 regular season games before losing to Michael Jordan's Bulls in the NBA Finals.

Barkley was better in 92-93 as well. He averaged 25.6 points, 12.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game and was the league MVP.

In 93-94, Ceballos 19.1 points and 6.5 rebounds.
