Bogut: At every hotel, people sneak around to find Curry

Steph Curry is arguably the most popular player in the NBA right now.

His jersey is the No. 1 seller, and he received the second most All-Star votes in 2016 (he was No. 1 in 2015).

His celebrity has its downfalls, however.

"I feel for him sometimes. He can't go anywhere. It's really, really bad," Andrew Bogut told Bill Simmons this week. "We're a traveling road show right now, obviously mainly because of Steph. Every hotel we go to, guys sneaking up to our floors, all kinds of stuff going on that hits a little too close to home for security reasons. He gets followed a lot."

On Thursday night in Orlando, Curry dropped 51 points on the Magic. He made 20 of his 27 shots, including 10 of 15 from beyond the arc.

When the Warriors hit the road, fans across the country show up way earlier than normal just to watch his warm-up routine.

Do Steph, Warriors need more shooting after postseason struggles?

And to think that less than two years ago, Curry was denied a beer at a Bay Area restaurant because he didn't have his ID.

"He can't do a whole lot," Bogut continued. "He's gotta take security everywhere with him now ... Steph does embrace it. He's very, very humble about it and a great teammate to be around."

When did Bogut know that Curry had the ability to be a special player?

"Denver series (2013 playoffs) ... three, four-minute spurts where he scores 18 points, and that's when you're kind of like, 'Wow, this guy is a game-changer,'" Bogut explained to Simmons. "Not only is he a scorer, he can change a game in three or four minutes. And we have two of those guys with him and Klay, but that's when I realized that Steph is gonna be one of the best to play the game."

Curry won the MVP a year ago and has been even better this season.

He leads the league in scoring (30.4), is 10th in assists (6.7) and fifth in steals (2.11).

He's made 276 3-pointers (at a 46.1 percent clip). Who has made the second most? Klay Thompson at 177.
