Gameday: Seth Curry looks to continue hot streak vs Suns

SACRAMENTO -- The Sacramento Kings hit the road to finish their 2015-16 schedule, beginning Monday night in Phoenix against the Suns. They’ve already surpassed last season’s win of 29, but they’ve fallen short of the playoffs for the 10th consecutive campaign.

The Kings are coming off an emotional 114-112 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night. The final game at Sleep Train Arena was packed with former players, coaches and plenty of fans. It was an event for the ages and the play on the court matched the intensity of the evening.

Phoenix is struggling through a miserable 22-win season. They fired Jeff Hornacek 49 games in and interim head coach Earl Watson hasn’t done much better, posting an 8-23 record over his 31 game trial run.

MATCHUP TO WATCH

Seth Curry vs. Devin Booker -- Curry is on a hot streak. The seldom used guard has averaged 15.2 points over his last nine games while hitting 54.3 percent (25-for-46) from 3-point land. Booker is one of the steals of the 2015 NBA Draft, posting 13.7 points per game on 34.8 percent shooting from long range. Booker has a green light to shoot on every possession which makes him a very tough cover.

QUOTABLE

“I think we saw what these fans can be in the near future if we make the playoffs – they’ve been great. Ever since I signed here, these fans have been so unbelievable. Even when we were down, when we didn’t feel like we deserved their appreciation, they still came. So we’re going to reward them by trying to make it to the playoffs.” - Darren Collison
