The Sacramento Kings take their show on the road Wednesday evening, traveling to Memphis to take on the Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum. Sacramento is riding a three-game losing streak and in desperate need of a win.
DeMarcus Cousins has done his best to drag his team through the rough patch in their schedule, but injuries and inconsistent play have plagued this team. Rajon Rondo was a surprise starter on Monday night after missing Friday’s game with two separate injuries. The Kings need forward Rudy Gay to return as quickly as possible from a shoulder strain if they hope to somehow climb back into the playoff race in the west.
After a slow start to the season, the Grizzlies have pieced together a nice run and currently sit in fifth place in the Western Conference standings despite a load of injuries and trade deadline deals. With Marc Gasol, Tony Allen and Brandan Wright all out with injury, and Courtney Lee and Jeff Green playing for new teams, coach Dave Joerger has had to look to new faces to compete. This Grizzlies team has been overhauled on the fly and they are still finding ways to compete.
